Lord Roxton, once an arrogant and ruthless hunter, sought glory and power by exploring the uncharted Plateau. His greed and lust for dominance over nature led to a tragic betrayal, causing the death of his companions. Now, Roxton is cursed to wander these Lost Lands, eternally hunted by the very creatures he sought to conquer. He is a tormented soul, capable of both monstrous cruelty and deceit, forever bound to the land he sought to tame.
The atmosphere of the domain is obscured by the Mists, manifesting as a thick fog which obscures vision and keeps everything continuously warm and damp, day and night, throughout the 'year'. Despite what previously surrounded the domain, there is no snow or ice anywhere in the realm, and the conditions of winter are completely unknown.
Roxton and Malone were once part of the same ill-fated expedition that sought to uncover the secrets of the Plateau. In the beginning, they saw each other as colleagues or at least acquaintances. Malone viewied Roxton as a seasoned, albeit arrogant, hunter. Roxton, on the other hand, saw Malone as a naive journalist—useful for documenting the expedition's success but ultimately expendable.
