We have lots of athletes at Fruita, spanning from Tennis to Football. As an athlete, you have lots of responsibilities. You are seen as the representatives of the school. Fruita is known to have some of the most talented athletes in the district. It's so important that we recognize these students as they are essential to our school.
Our Volleyball team this year had an outstanding season, although they didn't win all their games they continued to play their hardest. Hailee Wagner was one of the girls on the Volleyball team, she is a freshman who was on JV as an outside. As I was speaking to all of her teammates there was a very common theme when speaking about Hailee. “She is such a kind person and an overall great athlete, she never fails to make the team feel good when making a mistake she continues to keep a positive attitude and makes playing on the team with her so enjoyable,” Says the Fruita JV volleyball girls. Her team genuinely enjoys playing on a team with her.
The Fruita Monuments football team also had an excellent season; they have many talented players this year. One of those players is Miles Mason, who plays wide receiver for the freshman team. He is a very gifted player all around, he has been playing for eleven years. Nate Wilkinson, another freshman at Fruita says, “Miles was a great person to have on my team. He helped everyone out and always kept a good attitude.” Keeping a positive attitude is always important to keep a positive environment on the team.
With all of this said you can see that Fruita athletes are valued and respected by their teammates and coaches. Fruita athletes are held to a different standard than other schools. We are to show respect to everyone in the community no matter what or where we are.
