Cheers and Poms Easter Fundraiser

By: Sydney Dawson

The Cheer and Poms Easter Fundraiser has been a big hit! They’ve made about $500 doing the fundraiser! The fundraiser was on Easter, March 31st, and was a big success. They had the event take place at FMHS, and they plan on making it bigger in the years to come!

After interviewing the person who put everything together, and the Varsity Cheer coach, Lacey Tuell, she says “We had the FMHS Cheer Easter Egg fundraiser on 3/31 at Fruita Monument on the soccer field surrounding areas…” This helped the team earn money for more competitions, costumes, and events. Without the fundraisers, the team wouldn’t be able to perform the way they do. The coach says “We made about $500 by doing our fundraiser and we plan to do this annually and much bigger next year!” Obviously, this fundraiser is extremely important to the coaches and the girls because it shows how hard they all work.

Lacey Tuell continues by saying “ We posted our flyer on Facebook and Instagram, posted them at as many businesses in Fruita and Grand Junction as we could, and used word of mouth.” The girls on the team clearly work hard to promote the fundraiser because of how important the sport is to all the girls on the team.

If you would like to attend the event next year, mark your calendars because it’s going to be a major event that you don’t want to miss! The team will always appreciate the donations and support from the local businesses and students.
