The Fruita Monument girls' lacrosse season started February 26, 2024, and has been going on ever since. The team has been a great opportunity for the girls to compete in a high school sport. Lacrosse is a sport that requires a lot of teamwork and leadership and this year the girl's team is doing a great job.
The Fruita Monument lacrosse team “Season so far is going really well” says Abrielle Bishop a 9th grader here at the 8/9. Abrielle also reports that “our first game last weekend on Saturday we won 12-7” Abrielle concludes by saying that she was really proud of the way our defense has been working, and the transitions on attack are amazing. The lacrosse team for Fruita Monument is working hard to win all of their games.
Gianna Deitrich is also a 9th grader on the lacrosse varsity team. Gianna expresses that her team is doing really well saying, “My season has been really good so far. The team has a very high lacrosse IQ so I feel we’re good at knowing what to do and when.” Gianna says that her team has a strong skill in working together, the girls' lacrosse team is working hard on getting their defense skills to the best that they can be.
So far the Fruita Monument varsity team has been doing really well in working together. Their next games are on April 24th, 2024 against Montrose High School, April 25th, 2024 against Telluride at the Telluride Middle School, and a home game against Rangeview on April 27th, 2024, at the Fruita Middle School. The Varsity team has many other games up until May that will be in Montrose, Telluride, and Aspen.
