The Fruita girls soccer team after a game.
The Fruita Monument high school girls soccer just had their first win of the season at Central high school on March 27. The game started at 7:00 pm and the girls team won 3-0. Their record is currently 1-4-1 as they have won 1 game, lost four and tied a game. They did not have the start they were hoping for, but they got that first win of the season Wednesday and hope to get more. There are 2 freshmen on the varsity team. I wanted to see how their season was going.
Some of the players on the team feel as if they are off to a bad start but have lots of potential to do really well. One of which is Maddie, a freshman on the team. She said “We haven't been playing very well together but, I know that as the season goes on we will be really good.” As you can see they have not had a great start but are building confidence with a win over Central.
Although some of the players on the team may be freshman doesn't matter as they are still very dominant as that goes for Kenna Clayton who is also a freshman on the team she said “I'm not worried at all we still have a long season ahead of us, once we figure stuff out we will be winning every game.” As you can see Kenna is very confident and knows that there are still a lot more games to be played.
The varsity team still has a lot more games to be played but, as of right now they are number one in their league. The freshmen on varsity are Maddie Diaz and Kenna Clayton they both are very big help to the teams win Wednesday as Maddie had an assist in that game. As the team builds more confidence it will be excited to see how much better they can get and do.
