The FMHS boys lacrosse teams first practice was February 26th at FMHS high school the practice is 2 hours from 3:30 to 5:30 after school. The head coach is Coach Crabb. The lacrosse team is going to have to work hard in filling in all of the seniors that left last year. Last season the lacrosse team made it to the playoffs and even won a playoff game last season. There are 8 freshmen on the team this year. These freshmen will try to get some varsity time to help the team on trying to make it to the playoffs or even winning state.
I asked Nate Wilkonson, a freshman lacrosse player, how well his season is going he said “The first practice was good just doing the normal drill that we have been doing in pre season practice, but it has a little bit more running in this practice.” As you can see some of the players have been going to the pre-season practice, but the first official practice was the 26th.
I also asked Miles Mason, another freshman Lacrosse player, how excited he was for the season he said “I am really excited, but also think that this might be a rough year for our team as with all of those seniors leaving we will have a hard time feeling their positions.” Miles Mason is excited but, as I stated in my introduction the Lacrosse team will rely on some of the Freshman to replace the Varsity guys.
The Lacrosse team is going to have to work hard and the freshman will have to step up in order to fill those spots that they lost. Nate Wilskonson is a Goal which has a good shot at playing some varsity as well as Miles Mason who also has a good chance at varsity, his position is the left flank. That is how all of the freshmen are doing so far as well as some information on the team.
