Modern Clothing: The Death of Hardworkers

By: Beckett Van Why

What clothing in the modern times stands for is horrendous. The biggest problem is how it is decided. This mainly comes from famous individuals, groups, and what they think. This sways people into believing that clothing is everything about a person and not getting to know who they are. What they do not understand is that this tears down our economy and destroys our world. Modern clothing is an atrocity. The ideals revolving around it need to be changed into something that builds up our culture, not tear it down.

A lot of people look up to what famous people wear and how they act. What has been chosen is clothing not useful for the average worker. It is all about how showy and flashy it is. Because of this the crowds  have chosen to cast away people who choose to wear clothing for its utility, and not for show. The ideals and pictures seen by clothing designers now have changed quite a bit from what they once were. In older times people would not have thrown down others who wanted to wear clothing that was suitable for work. “People who are super big and famous; they don’t do a lot of things that promote good people in the way that they dress,” says Isabella Smith. Promoting good people and especially hard working people is key to keeping the local, state, country, and world population alive. People need to take the power given to them and use it for good, not to demean others.

People have also chosen to move away from clothing useful for working because of their idea that things should not stay the same. In the 1920’s through the 1940’s people mainly wore their clothing for its usefulness instead of pzazz. “A lot of people seem to have thrown away the older style of clothing. I think that this has caused a lot of people to go away from useful clothing and more into showboating,” reports 9th grader, Alex Trud. The population of the world has steadily decided to walk away from the things that happened during that time period and therefore pushed away work-effective clothing. As they do this they decide to toss away those who would stick with the older mindset. This causes a crisis for not only employers but consumers as well because they do not have people who are hard workers contributing to their cause.

So many people are tossed away daily, because of clothing, from both the population and the stars of this world; making the working class a lazy and ineffective group unable to support the workload and the demand of everyone. This is a never-ending spiral that must be stopped. Let clothing be the reason to build someone up, not tear them down and throw them away. We need people who work hard and strengthen the economy. Not mindless mobs who care more about the pair of shoes that someone is wearing than what they contribute.
