Freedom is something that every person has, Freedom is not earned. Schooling systems are taking away certain rights that students are very angry about. They have lost the right to have unlimited bathroom passes in certain classes, the right to eat or chew gum in class, or wear what they feel confident in. These problems make students have mixed emotions about where they attend school and if they are willing to continue their academic career in a school or go online.
“When I got to the 8/9 I was in utter shock at the limitations about the bathroom, I asked to go to the bathroom and I was told I could only go one more time after that for the rest of the quarter. My family was extremely angry about the rules.” Haley Starr, a freshman at the 8/9, doesn't like bathroom passes.
“I understand why we have these rules; they are made to set boundaries for students, But they are sometimes unfair. I can't control when I'm hungry and I dont think it's fair that teachers take that right away from me.” Ryder Smiercack, freshman at the 8/9, doesn't like being told he can't eat in certain classes.
Teachers make it seem like we have to earn the right to do basic things. Students are mostly angry or frustrated about this topic. Large numbers of the students in the United States would agree with me about this topic. Students should have more freedom at school.
