Having eight hour days at school, and eight different periods makes kids so tired at the end of the day. Some kids have two hour practices right after school as well as having to go home and do homework. School is so tiring, that's why we need to have less than eight periods. School should end around 2:15 and have longer class periods to help us learn the full lesson.
A 9th grader, Piper Heartman from Fruita 8/9 states, “I would love it if we could have five or six periods. Having eight periods overwhelms me because there's so much going through the day.” Having eight periods has been overwhelming because there's so much happening throughout the day. Pipers quote is agreeable because school is stressful as it is, and having so many class periods gets students stressed out.
A 9th grader Parker Clarke, who goes to Fruita 8/9 states, “ I don't mind having eight class periods. I would like to have though because school can get out an hour earlier so I wouldn't get out of practice late. Parker plays a ton of sports so getting out of school maybe an hour earlier with having less classes will give her time to get homework done. All kids that go to a school also have stuff going on after school. Having less class periods can let the students have more time to do things after school.
Having less class periods would make everyone so happy. Us students wouldn't have to stress so much about school with all the eight different lessons we have to learn. Having less class periods can help us focus on the afterlife of school, like sports, hom life, and so much more. We can learn a full lesson and get all the work done in the time, 45 minutes a period is too short. Having less class periods can add more time in the class and prevent us from having tons of homework at night.
