Phones in Class

Phones in Class

Most everyone in our school community has a phone. Some people like to think that they’re not a problem and we should have them in class, but others think that they’re a distraction.

Many people think that phones should be allowed in class because the students may need to contact their parents if there is a family emergency that popped up. Students may also need to use their phones for some school apps if they forgot there chromebooks that day. Some students have some health conditions that they need their phone for to check their blood sugar. Sometimes it's good for the student to have their phone in class so they can listen to music because it helps them focus more. Jaylene Campos says, “I think phones should be allowed in class because it is our personal property and we should be able to keep them with us in case of a emergency,”

Some students but mostly teachers thinks that phones shouldn’t be allowed in class. One reason people think that phones shouldn't be allowed in class is because they distract us. Even if we dont look at them all the time in class the notification still goes off and when it vibrates all our focus goes to what was the notification is. Another reason is because some people just like to sit on their phones in class instead of doing work. When the teacher allows phones after they get their work done a lot of people like to just rush through their work instead of taking their time and actually understanding what they are doing. The next reason why phones should not be allowed in class is because a lot of students will cheat and not actual know what they are doing or what’s going on.

In conclusion, there are a lot of reasons why students should and shouldn't have there phones in class but at the same time its up to the teacher whether or not you should be able to have phones in class.
