Damsel was released on Netflix on March 8, 2024. It has already had 50.8 million views. It had 35.3 million views within the first 3 days of being released. The cast was perfect for the whole movie. The main people in this were Millie Bobby Brown, Angela Bassett, Robin Wright, Nick Robinson, Ray Winstone, Brooke Carter and many more amazing actors. The movie also got straight to the point which is amazing. The attention to the amount of detail in the movie was amazing and I found it very interesting and it kept you on your toes the whole time.
Yes, the movie was somewhat predictable, but it was also something that you would not expect. At first the movie was confusing because you didn’t know what they were talking about but as the movie progressed, you started to understand and it made sense. I will never get over the fact that the main character (Elodie) was so loud and needed to be quiet. Sierra Knudson an 8th grader at West Middle school said, “I like how the bad guys got what they deserved because it got back some dignity the girl and the dragon lost from the bad people in the story” she makes an amazing point with this because during the movie Elodie had to learn to survive over the course of two days with a dragon hunting her.
Throughout the movie we learn that they have sacrificed so many girls to keep the kingdom at peace with the dragon for centuries. Anaya Ketchum an 8th grader at Fruita 8/9 said, “The movie had a good plot overall, but the prince could have done more to save the girls” This is a good point because the prince had every opportunity to save the princesses. Every other prince throughout the centuries could have also saved them but they chose not to. Overall this movie was amazing and I would recommend it to anyone who would like to watch this.
