Teacher's Spotlight: Mrs. McKee

By: Anna Dedduang

With the dismissal of the Fruita-8/9 staff, many students are sad to see them go. Numerous teachers have left a huge impact on kids from all different backgrounds, helping them get through the struggles that come along in their lives. It's an amazing thing when kids can have a teacher or staff member they will go to when something is going on in their lives.

Mrs. McKee is a brilliant English Language arts teacher who has worked  years here at the 8/9. She is loved by many of the students. “I like her teaching style and how she pushes me to get better grades,” Brody Wickersham, an 8th grader at the 8/9 states. Having a teacher that is willing to push you to your best ability is one of the best things for growing students to help show them what they can be capable of. Mrs McKee also is a leader of NJHS where she works with  the Fruita community and helps students to develop leadership skills. You can also catch her in the gym at 7:30 for FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Outside of school, Mrs. McKee loves to go biking/ mountain biking and hiking. She also loves to read and is a great person to get some book recommendations from. She says "I love teaching to see all growth from all my students,". Its nice to have a teacher who watches your progress and celebrates

.Thank you, Mrs. McKee, for being a wonderful teacher and leaving  students with lessons, memories, and knowledge. Look forward to the upcoming issue or some of the other articles where we will feature more of your favorite teachers.
