Light shows are a very important part of people's lives all across the globe. According to Meghan Eddie,“They're pretty but kinda a waste for the environment. They're pretty and fun but we have to find a more eco-friendly way.”
The concept of light shows originally began in North America. The first tree that was ever lit was in New York in 1882. The man who created this was Edward Johnson. A former friend of Thomas Eddison. This spread all around the world from Germany to Europe. The beautiful tree was lit in the colors of America. Red, white, and blue. Soon followed by the White house in 1895! It was lit up by Frances Cleveland. The first lady of President Cleveland. Frances saw Christmas lights as “...technology Savvy!”
According to CatholicLink, a website for the Catholic religion, 'Let the Christmas lights remind you that one day the light of Christ illuminated your heart.” remind us the true meaning of Christmas, the Lord Jesus Christ’s birthday!
After World War 2, the bubble christmas lights were invented. The lights held a liquid that sparkled when the liquid inside heated up. This was created by the NOMA electric company. They were the most popular in the 1940’s through the 1970’s, but remain and can be found today.
