School traffic around the high school and 8/9 has been getting worse as time goes on and it's expected to increase even more next year. The reason for the increase in traffic next year is the middle school grades moving over to the 8/9 before the change there is 5 grades and 2121 kids in the high school and 8/9 which is still a lot but after the change, there will be 7 grades and 2651 kids in the high school and 8/9 If we want to lower traffic around the area we can include things to direct traffic. Cora Lane, a student at Fruita 8/9 says “Traffic cones would be good to help control traffic.” When asked about possible solutions to fix the traffic, Composition teacher Mrs. Smith says “We could have a road that connects the 8/9 to the highway”. The Fruita traffic has been making students and staff late every day and if we can minimize it, we as a community can make people's lives easier and ensure students get to school on time.
