If you enjoy running long distances, discuss and shot put. Sign up for the boys and girls track at the Fruita 8/9. Bear Husky, is the Fruita Monument High School coach for track which officially begins on February 26th. Registering is easy, but comes with a $150 athletic fee, that includes an athletic physical, that is required to participate in any sport.
Many people enjoy running, like Emily Gray, who does track, is a 9th grader at the Fruita 8/9 she reports, “I started running track when I was 7 years old, I like track because I love running and I love jumping”. Emily and Kenna are both on the track team and both do the same things
Kenna Ceylayeta, who's also a 9th grader in track, does the “100, 200, 4x100, and long jump” For some people running is enjoyable. Kenna reports “I like it because I like to run and compete”. Saying that she “Started in 6th grade”. Starting young for Kenna and Emily has made a lot of time for them to both improve.
Track doesn’t start until February 26th, some of the track meets will be located at Stocker Stadium in Grand Junction, CO, Montrose CO, and even in Rifle CO. However a few meets are coming up, Such as March 12th which is their first meet, against Grand Junction’s JV team, held at Stocker Stadium. Frutia’s JV team has meets leading up until May 16th, to end the year of sports.
