One of the most beloved Christmas decorations was the lit up Blue House covered with lights and decorations. The blue house had its final setup of decorations last year when Marc Cadez sadly passed away in 2019. This has been a great tradition for the committee of Grand Junction and the rest of the valley.
A lot of people love the blue house and find it a great thing to look like Caylin Farganus, an 8th grader. “I think that the blue house is a great way to give to the community and to have people come together to look at an amazing house”
The Blue House started all the way back in 2006 when Marc Cadez put aside money for the house to have blue lights on it. When he passed away, he left behind 30 years worth of money for the lights. This tradition has been passed on for years but sadly it then stopped. When they didn’t have enough money to continue on, they set it up one more time last year. The blue house is located 2603 Partridge Ct, Grand Junction and it no longer has its blue lights but it is still an amazing house to go look at.
A lot of people love the Blue house and bring most people joy to look at “I love how bright it is. It always makes me smile because it means christmas!” says Matthew Procknow
The house now costs 1,485,000 and it was sold 3/16/23 to a new family . The house was a very good tourist attraction and you never had to pay. This was more of a gift to the community than anything and to keep the tradition alive as long as they could. The blue house has been a great tradition and had an amazing ending and send off. Goodbye blue house.
