Recently Fruita Middle School has had many rumors about merging schools with Fruita 8/9, or they are going to tear down the buildings and make different ones. Either way this is causing many teachers to move schools.
Another teacher from Fruita Middle, Jackie Williams, moved recently this year over the summer to Fruita 8/9. She says “I moved to Fruita 8/9 because we have an amazing group of students and staff which gives me an opportunity to experience this new exciting environment. I am enjoying the new challenges this building has set for me,” This is why so many teachers have left the middle school, to have a different challenge from the same work they were doing at the middle school.
These teachers have said that they moved schools because they wanted another challenge, but not only do they want a new challenge, they want a fresh start. A fresh start from the same old getting up and thinking that they aren't going to have their jobs in the next year or so. A fresh start with a new school, new students, new environment, new challenges, new coworkers, and a new way of teaching.
Whether or not these teachers are leaving the school because they could possibly lose their jobs if they stayed for another year, or because they want something new, teachers are consistently leaving the middle school for both of these reasons. And needless to say, there are going to be either a lot more or less this upcoming year, if they do decide to merge/take down the schools, depending on what the district decides. What do you think will happen if they merge the schools? Will it be a better choice?
