Rules Between 8/9 and High School

At Fruita 8/9 they are adding the freshman at Fruita Monument High School so the following 8th graders now will go to Fruita High School next year. Some of the differences is you can have your backpack at Fruita Monument High School, you can do classes that will affect your future on what you want to do when you grow up, you have different and newer classes then here at the 8/9, you get early release and get to leave for lunch. Some of the similarities is good education, you can be on your phone, you can use lockers, you can study out in the hall or library, they both start at the same time and end at the same time. 

Some students prefer the high school rules over the 8/9 school. Sydney York from the High School has stated “I feel like the High school rules are better than the 8/9 rules because we have more freedom, you get more choices on school work and what you want to do when you're older, and the chances you are able to get than at the 8/9.”  This is well said for the new freshman and sophomores that are going to Fruita Monument High School next year to get ready. 

Some of the students from the 8/9 prefer the rules from Fruita 8/9 school. Isabella Martinez said “Well the 8/9 rules are pretty basic and simple to understand and it goes for everyone they dont change based on grades like the high school does with there's sometimes, I also can handle these rules just fine.” For people who don’t like different rules or have a hard time adjusting to new rules learning them they can start seeing what they are based on what other people are saying about the rules. 

Fruita 8/9 and Fruita Monument High School have a lot of rules that are the  same, such as being respectful and not being late to your classes. The difference makes an impact on other students that are learning a new High School and having to learn the new rules.
