There are not a lot of things that teenagers can agree on, one of those things that they can all agree on is that we should have later start times for school. There would be so many benefits to this such as more sleep which would help with having more focus in the classroom. The students would be in better moods which would overall help the focus of the classroom.
Even some teachers would agree with this, this would be beneficial for so many people. Mrs. Gryniewicz says, “If we were to have later start times, more kids would show up to school ready to be engaged and learn.” I would have to agree with this because if I were able to come to school later I know that I would be more enticed to learn.
Lots of students would agree with this, not only because we don't feel like waking up but also because it would help us focus. Dahlia DeLeon a freshman at Fruita 8/9 says, “If our school were to allow later start times I would be more eager to come to school because I would be more well rested.” I would also agree with this statement because if I slept more I would be more awake at school and I wouldn't just be focused on how tired I am.
This is one thing that isn't controversial for most people here at Fruita 8/9 out of everyone at the 8/9 that I have interviewed they have all been able to agree on the fact that if we were to start later it would help every aspect of school, with things as small as in-class assignments to things and big as CMAS or even PSAT testing.
