Ice fishing was created to be a summer activity, that was then formed to become a winter interest. Ice fishing was first invented 2,000 years after fishing had become a pursuit. Originally this hobby was a way to get multiple food sources including seafood, but was later created for an activity for others to enjoy.
This activity involves some determination and strength. It is performed by going to frozen bodies of water, drilling holes into the ice, and dropping fishing lines in. Then, wait pateintly for bait! Some personal favorite locations include Glenwood, which was recommended by Kody Halton, and Leadville, which was mentioned by Miles Coleman.
Fishing has grown in popularity throughout decades, and is enjoyed by the peace that the hobby provides. According to a Fruita 8/9 student, Landon Nenne states, “I like to fish because of the places you are able to experience, including the wilderness.” This shows that along with being able to catch a fish, there is an opportunity to explore different places.
This activity has become admired because of the calm and relaxing aspect of the hobby. For instance, Easton Lopez states, “I like fishing because it’s fun and easy to understand.” This shows that anyone can access this hobby to enjoy.
So, as you can see, ice fishing would be a great option this winter! Try it out for yourself, and maybe youd find a new hobby to do with your friends or family!
