With Halloween around the corner and spooky season coming up, the Midway Messenger team has compiled a list of spooky treats that are perfect for any party or just for indulging. These 4 mouth-watering treats will satisfy your sweet tooth and haunt your taste buds. All 4 of the spooky treats include baking level and baking time.
Halloween chocolate-covered strawberries with candy eyes
Time- 1 hour to 1 hour and 25 mins Baking Level- Intermediate (Medium)
Description- Cute little monsters share the stage with pumpkins and ghosts on this Halloween dessert platter. For variety, you can create monsters with different colors of sanding sugar–just make sure to match the candy melting wafers to the sugar. You can make these treats several hours ahead and refrigerate them, but don’t refrigerate the monsters for longer than an hour as the moisture in the refrigerator will cause the candy eyes to run.
Pumpkin chocolate-covered strawberries ingredients- _6 ounces orange candy melting wafers_ 1 to 2 teaspoons coconut oil or vegetable shortening, if needed_ 12 large strawberries with green tops, rinsed and dried well_ 1-ounce chocolate chips.
Ghosts chocolate-covered strawberries ingredients- 6 ounces white candy melting wafers_ 1 to 2 teaspoons coconut oil or vegetable shortening, if needed_ 12 large strawberries with green tops, rinsed and dried well_ 1-ounce black candy melting wafers or chocolate chips
Monster chocolate-covered strawberries ingredients- 6 ounces dark-green candy melting wafers_ 1 to 2 teaspoons coconut oil or vegetable shortening, if needed_ 1/2 cup dark-green sanding sugar, plus more as needed_ 12 large strawberries with green tops, rinsed and dried well_ 24 small candy eyeballs_ 1-ounce chocolate chips, optional
