9th grade Swimming has started! Their first swim meet was on December 1st, and their opponent was Glenwood Springs. They had another swim meet on the 2nd against the Grand Junction Girls Swim Team located at Colorado Mesa University.
“Swimming teaches you how to do things correctly, all of the time. My coach always used to tell me that how I practice will be how I race, and that is very true.” Says an article written by Olivia Darr. This is a positive impact for everyone because swimming teaches you many things, not only physical skills, but mental skills as well.
“As well as being fun, swimming is a great way to keep fit and make friends. Swimming is a healthy activity that you can continue for a lifetime. Swimming is a low-impact activity that has many physical and mental health benefits.” According to https://www.betterhealth.vic.gov.au/. Keeping fit and making friends are two of the most important necessities in life. It’s safe to say that swimming will have the best affect and influence on everyone.
The girl’s next swim meet is on the 8th of December against Delta at the Delta Rec Center. Make sure to go give Fruita some support! Their next local swim meet will be at Colorado Mesa University on January 20th.
