Have you ever experienced paranormal activity when doing something so simple as just getting a drink of water? Maybe you have encountered a ghost, or a shadow person, or possibly even an alien! But, they all have one thing in common, they were encountered in houses. And here are some of the most haunted houses in America.
At the top of our list, is the Lizzie Bordan home in Fall River Massachusetts. This home is greatly known for its spooky sightings and the mystery that lies behind it. In 1892, the home was attacked by an ax wielding stranger, who brutally took the lives of Andrew Bordan and Abby Bordan. Parents of Lizzie and her older sister Emma.
On August 4, 1892, the maid of the Bordan family, Bridget Sullivan was in the home at the time of the murders. Andrew had just arrived home and was unlocking the door with his key. Sullivan heard and went to open the door for him. Trying to open the jammed door, Sullivan reported to hear Lizzie laughing upstairs. This was an important piece of evidence, considering Abby was dead at this time. But during the testimony, Lizzie denied being upstairs, but rather being in the kitchen downstairs, as Sullivan said she was going to visit a sick friend, according to Lizzie. But Sullivan herself had stated that after she got back, she cleaned the windows then rested. Then heard, “Maggie come quick! Father is dead! Someone came in and killed him!” from Lizzie downstairs.
When the police arrived at the crime scene and investigated further into the case, they found Abby was struck on the side of the head with a hatchet or ax- like weapon. The weapon had cut just above her ear. Andrew Bordan was also struck in the head brutally. He had been hit eleven times in the head. Splitting his right eye completely in two.
