Is a Four Day Week Coming Back to Stay?
Is a Four Day Week Coming Back to Stay?

Have you heard of the four day week in school and if it’s true or not? Well, it’s true. 124 districts out of 180 districts in Colorado have already made the switch to a four day week. We aren't sure when it is going to happen though. I think that a four day week would be great because a four day week could also help kids with anxiety about school. A big part about this is how much money the district could save.
With a four day week districts could save $640,000 on buses, food, salaries, fuel, and utilities for just one less school day. A four day week could also help reduce things that kids might be the reason kids don’t like school. “I think that would reduce stress levels and make students more excited about school,” says Aspen Kaiser, a student in District 51.
If we had a four day week Teachers would also get the day off like students would. People also think that the teacher shortage would then be fixed because of the fact more people are willing to teach. One reason that it may be bad is parents not being able to watch their kids because they had to work. “I think that we shouldn't have a four day week. It loses time for the kids to learn and the classes are already short” says Angie Simm, a teacher in district 51.
This is true we only have two one hour classes and every other class is only 45 minutes. The districts have been thinking about having a four day week for over a decade and it wouldn't be a surprise if it did happen. I think a lot of people want it to happen for a lot of different reasons.
