Reminders:

1)Don't forget to read and take notes over the Beowulf excerpts by class time on Wednesday. Directions and the text excerpts are located on this page in a previous post.

2) You should have already posted your summer reading responses to Wikispaces. Now, go back to Wikispaces and respond to the posts made by two of your peers about the same book you read and wrote about. More information about this can also be found in an earlier post on this page.

Vocabulary:

We will continue vocabulary this week, working with unit 2 in the Sadlier-Oxford Vocabulary Workshop books. Please complete the vocabulary assignments in this order:

Tuesday--Choosing the Right Word

Wednesday--Synonyms and Antonyms AND Completing the Sentence

Thursday--Prepare for Friday's Vocabulary Assessment

Literature & Writing:

We will write a about our society and the values that are evident in it before reading two pieces of Anglo-Saxon literature that show us a little about their values: Beowulf and "The Seafarer."

We will also complete a variety of activities related to the Anglo-Saxons, their language, and Beowulf via centers or stations.
