American Lit. for April 10-14

Post date: Apr 10, 2017 1:53:20 AM

Here's a quick overview of the coming week:

Literature: We will wrap up our discussion of Romanticism at the start of the week, focusing on a few short poems and excerpts from several essays from the period as we analyze how several authors develop the key ideas of Romanticism.

We will transition to a novel before the week is out: Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck. You should expect to do some independent reading, both in class and at home, of this short novel. Here's a link to the e-text of the book:

Language Skills: We will also complete a little more work with comma splices and fused sentences before moving on to subject/verb agreement issues later this week. This should help us prepare for the language portion of the upcoming EOC, which you will take on May 1-3.
