Here's an overview of the end of the semester:

    • On Monday, we will begin reading, discussing and viewing F. Scott Fitzgerald's classic novel The Great Gatsby. The novel is set during the 1920's--"The Roaring Twenties"--and we will watch and discuss a short introductory video about the era to set the tone for the novel.

    • We will continue to read and discuss Gatsby over the remaining days of our semester. You should expect to be asked to read some at home. Because our time is seriously limited, there will be a few sections of the book that I will summarize for you and provide you with a written summary of that section.

Here's a link to e-text of The Great Gatsby: https://ebooks.adelaide.edu.au/f/fitzgerald/f_scott/gatsby/contents.html

And here is the audiobook if you prefer to listen to the text:

    • We will also wrap up the semester with a brief research project focused on a topic of your choice. Rather than writing a paper, however, you will create an information brochure about your topic. We will work on this here at school over several days between now and next Wednesday.

    • Since we had an EOC Milestones test, we will not have a final exam. Instead, you will take your test over The Great Gatsby during the time scheduled for your exam: Thursday, Dec. 17 for 1st period and Friday, Dec. 18 for 3rd period.
