Here is an overview of what we will be doing this week:

D.E.A.R. Novels--You should finish your novels and complete S.A.R.s and projects to turn in this Friday. Project options and directions for the S.A.R. are in a previous post on this page.

Vocabulary: Vocabulary is back! We will complete unit 6 in the Sadlier-Oxford book this week, culminating in a quiz on Friday. Please be sure to complete homework per our usual schedule:

Monday--Choosing the Right Word

Tuesday--Synonyms and Antonyms

Wednesday--Completing the Sentence

Thursday--Study for Friday's quiz

Literature: We will continue to read, discuss, and analyze literature from the Revolutionary War era this week as we focus on elements of effective argumentative writing.

By the end of the week students will be asked to find two articles that present opposing arguments on the same topic and to analyze how the two writers make their arguments and to assess the effectiveness of those arguments.
