Hyphens & Dashes

Post date: Nov 11, 2019 2:41:5 AM

A lot of students had questions about exactly what a dash is used for when we took the mini-Touchstone last week, so here is some clarification regarding hyphens and dashes, courtesy of Khan Academy.

Incidentally, hyphen usage is the one punctuation/grammar standard the State of Georgia has set aside specifically for American Literature, which means it's likely to pop up on the EOC.

Follow this link to see a video lesson explaining the difference in hyphens and dashes. You'll then complete two practice exercises. After you complete them, call me over to show me how you did before you close the window on your laptop.
