Welcome back from break, and welcome to homecoming week!

This week will be based around what we are able to complete each day, so here is an overview of our week:

-Warm-Ups will include refresher video clips, short narrative writing, image analysis, and academic language practice.

-We will be introduced to our Unit 2 focus text, The Crucible by Arthur Miller. We will assign roles and start reading the play as a class early in the week. As we finish with sections of the text, we will view the 1996 film The Crucible.

-We will “meet” some of our major characters through an Introducing the Characters (via dialogue) activity found in our Springboard books. After this activity, we will use the bits of dialogue we study to add information to our Salem Tree, a visual aid to help us keep characters, relationships, and the social structure in order.

-Students will receive a chart to help them keep track of the characters and plot in the play.

-We will complete a review of the basic characters and plot information we will have read about thus far.

-We will introduce the final assessment once we get started with The Crucible so that students know what to pay attention to and what lies ahead.
