A.P. Lit. for January 7-11

Post date: Jan 07, 2019 2:16:33 AM

Here's an overview of the week ahead:

Vocabulary: We will be using the Sadlier-Oxford Vocabulary Workshop book this semester, and you should procure one, either by buying it at school or checking out a copy, by next week. We will, however, start with unit one on Tuesday of this week. Vocabulary will be your "starter" activity most days when you walk in, and you should quickly get used to the routine of completing the three exercises and then having a quiz on Friday.

A Thousand Splendid Suns: We will focus on analysis and discussion of this summer reading selection for the first few days, but our summer reading test will be on Tuesday of this week--the second day of class.

Multiple Choice Practice: One of our routines will be completion of a real A.P. multiple choice section each Monday. We will do the first of these on the first day of the semester.

Timed Writing Practice: Another routine will be practice with the A.P. Lit. writing questions. We will complete the first of these on Wednesday, and our usual routine will then be the completion of A.P. writing practice, revision, or analysis of your writing each Wednesday.

Pride and Prejudice: This is the second, and the more challenging, of the summer/pre-course reading selections. Our test over it is next Wednesday, January 16.
