American Lit. for March 7-11

Here's an overview of the coming week:

• • We will continue to take a break from vocabulary this week, returning to it for unit six NEXT week.

  • This will be our final week of D.E.A.R. time at the start of class. Please continue to fill out your reading log and to watch for Notice and Note signposts as you read.

  • D.E.A.R. Projects (a creative response AND a Summary, Analysis, and Reflection [S.A.R.] paper) are due next Friday, March 18. You are welcome to turn them in early if you are finished.

  • On Monday we will divide Benjamin Banneker's letter to Thomas Jefferson up for analysis and presentation, something we will continue and finish on Tuesday.

  • Much of our week will be spent preparing for and writing an argumentative paper that incorporates at least two articles from opposing sides of the same topic. More details will be given in class.
