Post date: Feb 03, 2017 3:55:25 PM

Here's what to expect in our class this week:

Vocabulary: We got new vocabulary on Friday and will continue to work with these words throughout the week. I have attached the definitions below.

"The Crucible": We will begin reading The Crucible this week, starting with some background about the Salem Witch Trials (see attachment "Witchcraft in Salem").

We will read acts one and two of The Crucible, focusing on character development and the irony of the play's events. Here is a link to the full text of the play:

Journals: We will also complete journals related to The Crucible, for each act, focusing on narrative writing. We'll talk more about this in class, but I've included the topics here as an attachment.

Language Skills--Revising Awkward Sentences

Based on scores on the editing, revising, and proofreading test we took two weeks ago, we will focus on some skills related to avoiding awkward sounding sentences.

I've attached the book we are using for this as a pdf below: Lesson 3, pages 33-40.
