As I did for Monday's work, here is a link to three short videos (with captions) to review the reading you did on Tuesday:
We have two brief activities for today, both reviewing some of what you've done so far with The Great Gatsby. Both will use Office 365 forms for submitting your responses/answers.
1) First, complete this activity reviewing characters from chapters 1-3.
Character Development in The Great Gatsby
In this assignment, you will be locating quotes from The Great Gatsby in which characterization, both direct and indirect, occurs. Remember:
Direct characterization occurs when the author tells the reader about a character.
Indirect characterization occurs when the author shows the reader something about a character through their own words or actions, or others’ words about the character.
-Choose any two of the main characters that you want to focus on for this assignment.
-Locate a minimum of one quote (anything in the book relating to a character) that characterizes each of the two characters you choose (2 quotes in total).
-Explain what the quote shows us about your character or about others' responses
to him or her.

2) I have attached a passage from Chapter three of Gatsby at the bottom of the page. It's from the section we summarized for you yesterday. Please read it and answer the ten multiple choice questions (like we did last week in class), but put your answers in the Office 365 form below. It's set up as a multiple-choice answer sheet.
