American Dream

The American Dream Final Assessment

What is the American Dream? Culminating Project

As the culminating project for this unit, you will create a document or slide show that illustrates your idea of the American Dream through writing—your own words and others’—and images.

Requirements:

· Create this assignment in Power Point, Word, Google Docs, or Google Slides (NOTE: If you do it in Google slides, make sure I have access to see it. It may be best to send it to my Gmail: mrwoodall0403@gmail.com. Let me know if you do this.) Otherwise, please submit it in CTLS, where the assignment is.

· A couple of paragraphs in which you define the American Dream in your own words AND in which you integrate at least two quotes from something we have read during this unit (see the list with links at the bottom of this page). Be sure the quotes are relevant and that you discuss their connection to your ideas.

· 6-8 images (personal photos, pictures from internet, your drawings) that relate to your concept of the American Dream.

· A caption for EACH image. At least two of these captions should be a quotation from one of the things we read. A list of these works is at the bottom of the page, with links to the texts.

· Citations of the source of ALL your quotes, with the author’s name in parentheses after each one.

· IMPORTANT: Quotes must always have lead-ins (like Adams suggests . . ., Roosevelt says . . .) or they should be smoothly blended into your own sentences. This may help: How to integrate and cite quotes.docx
