American Lit. for Sept. 6-9

Here's a quick look at what we have going on this week:

• • Because of the shortened week and the need to finish The Crucible, we will NOT have vocabulary this week. We will resume with unit five next week.

  • Our focus this week will be on finishing our reading, discussion, and viewing of The Crucible. We will likely finish act III on Tuesday before completing a short writing assignment related to the most important line from the act. We will also complete an activity in which students determine key quotations that best represent major characters from act III.

  • By the end of class Thursday, we will have wrapped up the play and completed review of some key literary terms related to the play. This will prepare us for our assessment over The Crucible, which we will complete in class on Friday.

  • Looking ahead to next week, we will begin a unit on argumentation, with Mr. Owen as lead planner and instructor.
