American Lit. for March 14-18

Post date: Mar 14, 2016 2:10:19 AM

Here is a quick preview of the coming week:

Several big things should be on your radar for this week:

1) You should be wrapping up, if you haven't already, your analysis of two articles. Directions for that are included here.

2) Once you have completed the article analysis, you should take those two articles and use them to write your own argument--a position paper--on your topic. Again, directions are below. Monday will likely be the last class day for this. After that, you'll need to finish it and turn it in.

3) On Wednesday, you will have your assessment over argument and rhetoric. We will complete some review in class on Tuesday for this, and I have attached a review handout here for anyone who is absent.

4) Finally, please remember that D.E.A.R. projects--a creative response and an S.A.R. (summary, analysis, and reflection)--are due this Friday, March 18. We will NOT have any in-class time to work on this.

5) We will begin Of Mice and Men, a novel by John Steinbeck that is set during the Great Depression, at the end of the week; we will finish it before spring break.
