18th:

We will continue practicing our Unit 2 Vocab with an image review PowerPoint and individual white boards.

We will also read and discuss the sermon "Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God" by Puritan preacher Jonathan Edwards. At the end of class, we will break into five groups to analyze the whole sermon for purpose.

19th:

We will complete a Touchstone assessment.

After completing the assessment, students will fill out a post-research group and self evaluation form.

We will practice for our vocabulary quiz with a Kahoot! review quiz.

If time allows, we will wrap up "Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God."

20th:

We will start class with our unit 2 vocabulary quiz.

If need be, we will re-visit and wrap up "Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God" by discussing what purpose each group decided on for their assigned section.

We will learn about the New England Primer and its importance to Puritan religion and compose our own moral couplets.

The worksheet for this activity and an example are attached to the bottom of this post.

21st:

We will start the class with a brief video clip and discussion of the content's relation to our unit 2 texts.

We will read and discuss "The Trial of Martha Carrier" by Cotton Mather.

Students will begin writing a short narrative in response to the piece; the assignment sheet and an example are attached below.

22nd:

We will start the class with a brief video clip and discussion of the content's relation to our unit 2 texts and content.

We will take a written assessment over the three texts we have studied this week.

We will work on our narratives and couplets after the assessment.

I hope you have a nice break!
