American Literature for April 17-21

Post date: Apr 17, 2017 1:49:50 AM

Here's a quick look at the week ahead:

We will continue to read and discuss John Steinbeck's classic novel Of Mice and Men this week. You should anticipate being asked to complete a little bit of reading at home. Everyone should have the copy of the book I checked out to them, but if you find yourself without yours and needing to read, here's a link to the book's complete text:

We will have our vocabulary quiz over words from Of Mice and Men on Wednesday, after completing activities with the words on Monday and Tuesday.

As we look ahead to the EOC on May 1-3, we will complete several language/grammar activities that will help us prepare. This week we will focus on subject/verb agreement and how to avoid errors with subjects and verbs that don't agree.

In addition, we will also work with USA Test prep. later this week, focusing on individual test preparation. If you want additional practice, see the post before this one on this page.

You should anticipate receiving your argumentative essays on Tuesday, with many of you having an opportunity to revise your papers based on feedback I'll give you.
