American Lit. for Sept. 8-11

Here is an overview for our short week:

• • We will introduce Unit 5 vocabulary on Tuesday and ask students to complete the exercises for homework as follows:

Tuesday--Choosing the Right Word AND Synonyms and Antonyms

Wednesday--Completing the Sentence

Due Friday--A take-home vocabulary assessment that we will give you by Wednesday

• We will finish reading, discussing and viewing The Crucible this week, starting with a brief writing assignment on Tuesday, similar to what students did in Act I, where they are asked to select and defend the most important line from Act III.

• On Wednesday, we will finish Crucible journals and turn them in. If you have missed an entry or need to finish one, I have attached the topics here. You should have five journal entries completed after Act IV.

• As we finish up the play, you should anticipate our test over it on Friday of this week. I am attaching several study resources on this page.
