Here's a quick overview of the first few days of our semester:

Monday will largely be spent on introductions--to the class, your classmates and teacher(s). We will also ask you to write a letter of introduction to us. We should get started on this in class, but if you need to finish it at home here are the directions:

Suggested things to include in your letter of introduction:

-General background about you and your family

-Where you’ve lived, etc.

-Your interests/activities outside of the school day (sports, clubs, jobs, hobbies, etc.)

-Your feelings/attitude toward school, teachers, English classes, etc.

-What you hope to do after high school, both short-term and long-term

-Any medical issues you think teachers should be aware of

-Any special concerns or worries as the semester begins

-Anything you think makes you unique or special or that you’d just like to your teacher(s) to know about you or your experiences

Touchstones Testing: Throughout the semester we will give a series of county-mandated assessments called Touchstones. We will take the first of these this week, probably on Wednesday.
