American Lit. for March 20-24

Here's an overview of the coming week:

Language & Grammar: We will continue to work on how to spot and avoid comma splices and fused sentences in our writing, using Grammarbytes as a review tool. On Wednesday, we will have a short assessment over this skill. If you'd like additional practice beyond what we are doing in class, go here:

Argumentative Literature:

Having spent last week analyzing argumentative writing from the Revolutionary era, we will spend the start of this week reading two argumentative articles of your choosing from the Opposing Viewpoints database in order for students to write an argumentative essay in a task similar to what students are likely be asked to do on the EOC. I have attached the directions below that I will give you in class on Monday.

We will also wrap up this unit with a final assessment over it on Thursday. I'll have more information for you in class.
