American Lit. for Sept. 28-Oct. 2

Post date: Sep 27, 2015 4:16:44 PM

Here's a look at what we'll be doing this week.

D.E.A.R.--Just like we did the week before break, we'll start class each day with reading time and then complete our reading journal, watching for "Notice and Note" signposts as we read. D.E.A.R. projects are due on Friday, October 9. Remember that you should complete a S.A.R. report AND a creative option. I have attached the assignment sheets on this page.

We will NOT have new vocabulary this week, with D.E.A.R. time taking the place of it. Vocabulary returns next week, on Monday, October 5.

On Monday we will return to the computer lab to finish, revise, edit, and proofread your Crucible character analysis essays. If you do not finish yours in class Monday, you will need to finish it on your own and submit it NO LATER THAN CLASS TIME WEDNESDAY.

On Tuesday we will introduce our next unit on argumentation and persuasion, using primarily literature from the Revolutionary period of American lit. to model how effective writers and speakers utilize a variety of techniques, including ethos, pathos, and logos, to make their arguments.
