AP Lit. for August 26-30

Post date: Aug 25, 2019 11:52:14 PM

Here's a quick look at the week ahead--the last week of August.

First, a few reminders:

    • Drafts of autobiographical essays are due for peer-editing on Tuesday. Please be sure to bring a fully developed draft of your paper.

    • Please get a copy of Tim O'Brien's The Things They Carried before next week. We will begin it Labor Day, and you will have nightly reading assignments.

    • This Wednesday is an early release day, so all classes will be significantly shortened.

    • We will have our first pep rally of the year this Friday, so we will also be on a modified schedule.

What's happening this week:

Vocabulary: This is a review week, so there won't be any new words. We will complete a couple of activities with the words we've studied so far, and this week's quiz will focus on review of those words.

Multiple Choice Monday: As usual, we will complete a practice multiple choice exercise on Monday.

Fences by August Wilson: The majority of our week will be spent on various activities related to the play, including "building" your symbolic fences, reading some related poetry, writing about the play, and watching the film that features Denzel Washington and Viola Davis.
