Honors Brit. Lit. for Dec. 7-11

Here's an overview of our activities this week:

****Hamlet Research papers are due on Monday; be sure to turn yours in. If there are issues, be sure to see me.

    • We will continue to read and discuss Wuthering Heights throughout the week. Anticipate reading check quizzes, and keep up with reading per the schedule below:

18-20 Tuesday, Dec. 8

21-22 Wednesday, Dec. 9

23-24 Thursday, Dec. 10

25-27 Friday, Dec. 11

28-31 Monday, Dec. 14

32-34 Tuesday, Dec. 15

    • We will also be reading and analyzing a couple of examples of satirical writing from the Restoration era: Jonathan Swift's "A Modest Proposal" and Alexander Pope's "The Rape of the Lock."

    • Several of you have commented on how it would be useful to read and discuss more poems in order to better hone your poetry analysis skills. Your wish will be granted this week as we delve into several poems from various era in British Lit.

    • Finally, we will focus on some review of comma rules, by way of an online, interactive platform called Grammar Bytes (get it?).
