Mithrite

Mithrite - Mithrite was first discovered in the Great forest of Kejan'sol. It was originally believed to always be silvery green and when crafted by the hands of a non-elf did it become regular Mithril due to faulty crafting. Eventually, other deposits of other colors were discovered and those deposits also seemed to revert to mithril by elf and human alike. The key to forging Mithrite is to forge it near a laylane and each has its own unique process of forging that is only being discovered now. Mithrite is a crystalline substance with organic and metallic properties. It is lighter than steel but just as hard, When worked like steel and forged properly, it becomes a wonderful material from which to create armor, and is occasionally used for other items as well.

Mithril - Mithril is the result when Mithrite is processed using technological means instead of magical. Mithrite loses it's colored 'impurities' when processed away from a layline and without a Psionic/magical guide to supervise the process of refining. However recently some of it's organic properties have been able to be retained during the forging process, allowing Mithril to maintain attunement, Pilancy and It's advanced Mana conduits.

All Mithril and Mithrite is Corrosion resistant due to it's crystalline properties.
