Copper, Silver, Gold, Platinum

"Copper, Silver, Gold: Great for coins. . . Other things? Not so much."

Copper is one of the few metals that occur naturally in nature that is in a directly useable form. This has led to early use of the material in many races. The metal can be smelted down and put into molds to create weapons or armor.

Copper is widely used in buildings, weaponry or even decorative art.

Copper Information

Soft:

Weapons: Pure copper is often too soft to hold a decent edge, but light weapons that do piercing or slashing damage can be constructed of pure copper or some nearly copper alloy. Copper weapons have a hardness of -2.

Armor: Copper can be fashioned into light or medium metal armor. The weight of the metal increase the armor check penalty by 2. Copper armor has a hardness of 8.

Conductive - Electrical

Copper is an amazing conductor of electricity, as a result after electrical damage has been calculated, add +1 electrical damage for every pure Copper item on that person.

As a result of this Copper is also an amazing choice for Lightning-based enchantments. Reduce the Meseta cost of Lightning orb enchantments by 30%

A soft, white, lustrous transition metal. It exhibits the highest electrical conductivity, thermal conductivity and reflectivity of any metal. Silver in Human culture has long been valued as a precious metal. Other than its use in some currency and as an investment medium. Silver is used in the making of many different materials.

Armor: Silver can be fashioned into light or medium metal armor. The weight of the metal increase the armor check penalty by 2. Silver armor has a hardness of 4.

Anti-Fragility - Silver Armor and weapons gain this enchantment for free when magic is added to them. The soft mechanic is also negated by this effect allowing for the creation of Magical weapons that are beyond light and magical armor of the heavy category.

Silver is an amazing conductor of electricity, as a result after electrical damage has been calculated, add +1 electrical damage for every pure Silver item on that person.

As a result of this Silver is also an amazing choice for Lightning-based enchantments. Reduce the Meseta cost of Lightning orb enchantments by 30%

Special Forging Requirement to Get Refined Silver:

  • Mined from a Non-Class P environment [Non-Ice]

  • Forged in a Class M environment

Gold

Typically only used for ceremonial weapons and armor, metal equipment made from gold is fragile, heavy, and expensive. Often golden armor is gold-plated rather than constructed entirely from gold. The rules below are for rare items constructed entirely of gold rather than being gold-plated. Gold-plated items triple the base cost of weapons and armor and have the same properties as the item the gold is plating.

Items constructed purely of gold cost 10 times the normal cost for items. Gold items weigh 120% more than typical weapons or armor.

  • Corrosion Resistant

  • Acid Resistant

  • Mana Conduits - Alga

Platinum Information

Acid Resistant

Platinum is one of the more durable materials available that is used for both coin and arms alike. Its durablity makes it hard to work with and it is able to shrug off many kinds of acids that other metals might be subjected to during the forging process. While this raises the cost somewhat, it does have the advantage of reducing any damage that strikes the armor directly for the purposes of damaging it.

If the object is targeted directly or indirectly by an acidic spell or substance, it is treated as if it had a hardness of 15 instead of 10.

Mana Conduits Alga : Platinum has 1 extra Affix slot for enchantments.
