Preliminary Injunctions Granted in U.S. Federal Court Against 44 Pirate Sites
Offering ABS-CBN Content; Sites Now Blocked
SAN FRANCISCO, CA, September 1, 2015 - ABS-CBN has received several preliminary injunctions in the US Federal District Court against 44 sites distributing ABS-CBN TV shows and movies. The most recent lawsuit, ABS-CBN et al. v. Hapitvnow.info, et al., was filed on August 10, 2015 and seeks over $20 million in damages.
This new lawsuit follows the recent criminal arrests of Nico Angelo Rempillo of Naga City, and Jim Marcelino of Roxas City, and Mark Marlon Millendez of Davao City, who allegedly operated sites that pirated ABS-CBN's TV shows and movies. Civil lawsuits have been filed for copyright and trademark infringement against these three defendants, for over $10 million in damages. Millendez’s websites, pinoymovie2k.tvand movie128.com, have already been taken down and replaced with the pleadings for the lawsuit against him. Rempillo’s website, ireplaymo.com, and Marcelino’s websites,pnoytv-online.com, pinoytvpost.com, teleseryepinoy.com, and teleserye-pinoy.com, have been ordered disabled and are in the process of being transferred.
The following sites, which were offering ABS-CBN TV shows and movies without permission, have been ordered by the Court to be disabled and have either already been disabled or are in the process of being blocked today or tomorrow. These sites had combined traffic of over 3.4 million views:
ABS-CBN’s AVP for Global Anti-Piracy & Content Security, Elisha Lawrence, warned: “These sites pose a major risk to our viewers because by clicking on these sites, the malware can allow hackers to invade their phones, laptops and tablets and steal private information including their bank account numbers, private emails as well as to have access to other confidential information. Warn your friends and family to stay away from pirate sites. Don't pay a high price for free! If you find any additional pirate sites, youtube or google blogspot links offering or distributing ABS-CBN TV shows and movies, please email us the information at report@abs-cbn.com.”

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM SEPTEMBER 1, 2015 – "It just keeps getting bigger."
This was the enthusiastic statement of ABS-CBN Managing Director of Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) Kai V. Rodriguez when she shared the big news that major stars from the United Kingdom will not only appear, but will actually perform at the giant "ASAP 20 Live in London" set for September 6, Sunday, at The SSE Arena Wembley.
ABS-CBN Europe Ltd officially announced today that the legendary British band Spandau Ballet, acclaimed British classical crossover vocal group Blake, and nine cast members of Filipino descent of Cameron Mackintosh's new production of Claude-Michel Schönberg and Alain Boublil's Miss Saigon in London's West End will be special guests of this major Filipino event produced by ABS-CBN Corporation and ABS-CBN's The Filipino Channel (TFC) in Europe.
"You'd think that celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Philippines' longest-running, top-rating live musical variety show at a venue as historic as The SSE Arena Wembley with scores of the biggest Filipino stars is already as grand as it could get. Spandau Ballet has sold 25 million records worldwide with 23 hit singles in the three decades they've performed together. Members Tony Hadley, John Keeble, Gary Kemp, Martin Kemp and Steve Norman are also set to thrill their countless fans in the Philippines this year via their September 21 show at the Mall of Asia Arena, Manila.
Blake - composed of Ollie Baines, Stephen Bowman and Humphrey Berney, three friends who recorded their first album in 2007, just six months after they reunited on Facebook - had performed already in Manila and even released their Filipino album back in 2013 with Original Pilipino Music (OPM) hits like "Don’t Know What To Say (Don’t Know What To Do)", "Say That You Love Me", "You Are My Song" (featuring Rachelle Ann Go) and Tagalog songs, "Sa Isip Ko", "Kailangan Kita" (feat. Joanna Ampil) and Hotdog's "Manila".
The current West End production of Miss Saigon, which swept the board at the 2015 Whatsonstage Awards, winning nine - the most ever won by a single show in the history of the awards, including Best West End Show and Best Revival of a Musical - is also bringing nine of its cast members to "ASAP 20 Live in London". NEW YORK, August 26, 2015 - Charo Santos-Concio, President, Chief Executive Officer & Chief Content Officer of ABS-CBN Corporation, the Philippines' media and entertainment conglomerate will serve as Gala Chair for the 43rd International Emmy® Awards, which will take place on Monday, November 23, 2015 in New York City.
Ms. Santos-Concio will preside over the Gala, during which the International Academy will recognize programming in ten program categories and present Special Awards to Julian Fellowes, creator and writer of Downton Abbey (Founders Award) and Richard Plepler, Chairman & CEO of HBO (Directorate Award). As previously announced, the awards ceremony will be hosted by Egyptian satirist Bassem Youssef, former host of the popular TV show Al-Bernameg ("the Program").

Maria Rosario "Charo" Santos-Concio was appointed President and Chief Operating Officer of ABS-CBN in 2008 and Chief Executive Officer in January 2013. And in 2014, she won Gold Stevie Awards at the prestigious Stevie Awards for Women in Business and the Asia Pacific Stevie Awards. She was also named Asian Media Woman of the Year by ContentAsia, a premier information resource that covers the entertainment media industry across Asia-Pacific region.
Onscreen, Ms. Santos-Concio hosts ABS-CBN's longest-running drama anthology "Maalala Mo Kaya" (Remembering). She began her career as an actress and won Best Actress in the 1977 Asian Film Festival for her performance in the film "Itim" (Black). She joined ABS-CBN as a Television Production Consultant in 1987 after working as a line producer for a number of prestigious film production companies. She also worked as a Film Production Manager for the Experimental Cinema of the Philippines, which produced some of the country's best films. Ms. Santos-Concio is a recipient of many cinema and broadcast industry-related awards over the years. She graduated cum laude from St. Paul's College in Manila with a Communications Arts degree. She also completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School in 2007.
