(BROOKLYN, NY) - ABS-CBN's ASAP, the longest running musical-variety show in the country, presented its biggest and most successful LIVE show, ever, this time in the capital city of performing arts - New York! The 18,000 capacity Barclays Center Arena in Brooklyn was packed with Fil-Ams coming from all 5 boroughs of New York, Los Angeles & San Francisco, California, Pennsylvania, Washington, DC, Jacksonville, FLorida, Ontario, Canada, Manila, Philippines, just to name a few.

Last Saturday's sold out event is officially the most successful ASAP show held outside the Philippines, ever! The reigning Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach celebrated her birthday got serenaded by Martin Nievera singing "She" and the packed arena sang "Happy Birthday" to her!

"Ang Probinsyano" top-rating actors Coco Martin, Vice Ganda. and Onyok brought the arena down several times during the night as they sang and danced on the over four-hour event, punctuated in between only by a 15-minute restroom break!

The Ultimate Heartthrob, Piolo Pascual performed with “Born For You” leads Elmo Magalona and Janella Salvador (aka #Elnella), Kathryn Bernardo, Daniel Padilla (aka #KathNiel) of “Pangako Sa ‘Yo,” Enrique Gil and Liza Soberano (aka #LizQuen) of “Dolce Amore,” Kim Chiu, Gerald Anderson, Maja Salvador, Gary Valenciano, Martin Nievera, Zsa Zsa Padilla, Yeng Constantino, Angeline Quinto, Luis Manzano, Billy Crawford, Klarisse De Guzman, Kyla, KZ Tandingan, Daryl Ong, Jay-R, Jolina Magdangal, Morisette Amon, Erik Santos, Jona Viray, Jason Dy with the special participation of Ms. Charo Santos and the !

And the biggest surprise of the night - the gathering of most visible Fil-Am Broadway singers/actors these days, performing side by side with the Filipino Super performers, headed by Jaygee Macapugay of "Here Lies Love" accompanied by a 25-man ABS-CBN Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Gerard Salonga with Musical Arrangement by the ever-reliable Homer Flores!

The 2-in-1 night show was taped to air - watch on The Filipino Channel (TFC) on two successive Sundays, September 11 and 18, 2016.

TO RECEIVE ACADEMY’S 2016 GOVERNORS AWARDS

LOS ANGELES, CA – The Board of Governors of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences voted Tuesday night (August 30) to present Honorary Awards to actor Jackie Chan, film editor Anne V. Coates, casting director Lynn Stalmaster and documentary filmmaker Frederick Wiseman. The four Oscar® statuettes will be presented at the Academy’s 8th Annual Governors Awards on Saturday, November 12, at the Ray Dolby Ballroom at Hollywood & Highland Center®.

“The Honorary Award was created for artists like Jackie Chan, Anne Coates, Lynn Stalmaster and Frederick Wiseman – true pioneers and legends in their crafts,” said Academy President Cheryl Boone Isaacs. “The Board is proud to honor their extraordinary achievements, and we look forward to celebrating with them at the Governors Awards in November.”
