SEEN IN THE CITY

AMERIKANA: Made in the Philippines a comedy dinner show held at The Fort McKinley in South San Francisco last Saturday, January 19, 2013 is a joyous celebration of a woman’s struggle punctuated by misfortunes and successes told in the funniest way. I’m glad I went. the story of a woman’s remarkable journey in search for the missing pieces in the jigsaw puzzle of her life – her real mother and a sister she never knew. A story that spans two continents told through all-original songs and lyrics, with amazing choreography and staging, performed live by an ensemble of consummate artists.

It’s almost every Filipino’s true ‘American dream’ story and it stars Fe Delos Reyes at her comedic best honed through decades of performing together with our local musical and hilarious talents - Louella Albornos, Ang Grupong Pendong, Sam Tellez, Gina Gonzalez, Rose Gonzalez, Ellona Rano Santiago, Shalimar Rano Santiago, Ronnie Ramos, Cheryl Garcia, Julia Mendoza, Alexandra Mendoza, Stephen Krammy, George Fuentes and the Milpitas Boxing & Fitness team (headed by Tony Gobucan, Owner and President).

Music & Libretto were provided by Odette Quesada and Bodjie Dasig; Technical Director: Jet Montelibano; Choreographer: Cheryl Garcia; Stage Manager: Thage Montecarlo; Script Supervisor: Mario Mendoza & Odette Quesada

I had a lot of fun at Amerikana and I’m glad I came.
